Red River Spirit
Drifting between ferry chimneys, ancient villages dug into
the canyon walls, green willow trees and exciting rapids on this
refreshing day adventure. Come to breathe in the atmosphere,
taste the nature and spend a magical day with us to get the real
sense of the "Red River Spirit".
Trip Itinerary
Morning meeting on a cup of coffee and a run down on what we
are about to do during the day. After kitting up with the river
gear we board our vehicle for a short drive to the put-in. The
Kizilirmak (Red River) originates at the Kose Mountains east
of the city of Sivas and curves its way through the Cappadocian
dry land with its lush green river bed and deep canyons.
On this trip we enter the Yuvali canyon and its fantastic whitewater
(much more exciting on a kayak) and spend our day on the river
beneath ferry chimneys, exotic vegetation and untouched villages
in the prestine landscape of Cappadocia. On the way we take some
time to swim, play games and for other river activities while
our guides enlighten us on facts and stories of the area. A delicious
lunch is then served on the riverbank.
At late afternoon we take out near the village of Bayramhaci
to relax with a cool beer and exchange experiences of the past
day’s adventure.
